Attended another great lecture series on race at the Richland County Public Library. Author Chris Singleton (whose mother was killed in 2015 during the Mother Emanuel Church Tragedy) reminded us that Love is truly greater than hate and that each of us must do things in our everyday lives to spread love and aspire to see others through their eyes in an attempt to understand them and their story even though we may not agree with them or their point of view. While listening to his lecture, I was reminded of the same elements in my own conflict resolution training curriculum...patience, empathy, amicability, compassion and empowerment as well as one of the most important factors in mediation....understanding another person's point of view!
